J. Giles died yesterday. We've lost another great man...

I still have his poster on my wall, the one from the Bowen Field House, March 9th,1978.

Mine did too. And so did the Angel in her centerfold.

@BlueMetalChick: don't forget the angel in blue

My love runs cold, my memory has just been sold!

I was only very young but his music was the first American music I really liked. I still really like American music all this time later and American heroes of mine have lived and died in the time since.
Wow J. Giles Yesterday, Charlie Murphy today...I think Fergie better watch herself.

71...young enough to
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
Eh, he might as well have been dead anyway
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@Jackaloftheazuresand: True, but he was still a musician. Like Skip Haynes is still around but isn't writing much anymore. His daughter was my piano teacher when I was a child, and his old band mate John Jeremiah was my father's roommate in college.

Interesting

@Jackaloftheazuresand: They were both nutcase drunks. Apparently they got into a fight one night while both of them were hammered and Jeremiah tried to throw my dad out the window. It was one of their favorite stories to tell back in the day.
