Who is your favorite progressive rock band?

I too played in a prog cover band. We played works by Yes,Jethro tull of course, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Gabriel era Genesis and many more. Sadly we broke up because people stopped supporting prog. Times have chnged obviously and crap music took over but there is a ressurgence thank God.

Love Yes.....saw them twice. Too bad Jon Anderson is not with the band any longer and the loss of the best bass player in prog Chris Squire has diminished the quality of their music somewhat....oh...I forgot the wizard...Rick Wakeman

I saw Yes about half a dozen times, I saw Rick Wakeman solo doing journey to the center of the earth. . I've seen Tull a few times and zeppelin once.. pink Floyd twice, the first time was the wall.... I saw ELP and king crimson and Genisis. . Along with a boat load of other rock shows..
I'm in the northeast, everybody played here.. Kansas, Boston, Styx. . You name it...

Steven Wilson is brilliant.......Gavin Harrison has to be the best drummer ever.

Yes....Ian Anderson won a Prog God award not long ago. Hard to categorize a band that has so many styles in his music.

I do love them. It's not an easy to define genre.
