What’s a cover of a song that’s better than the original?

Personally I think Nirvana’s version of The Man Who Sold the World is better than Bowie’s.

Jimi Hendrix did "All Along the Watchtower" better than Bob Dylan

KMFDM did "Straight to Video" better than Mindless Self Indulgence

A-TRAX did "Heads Will Roll" better than the Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Social Distortion did "Ring of Fire" better than Johnny Cash

Yeah I really enjoy it I’ll be seeing the, in September at blue fest festival hopefully they do this song I was a big dio fan and got into them from the wwe as a kid and always been a fan @royalblue1193

I might disagree on that particular song but with “Hurt” I like Johnny Cash more than the NiN original.
Also I like this version of a KISS original by the Replacements.

Cyndi Lauper's version of Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, much better than the original by....I forget his name.

Also, metal blasphemy, I know, but I prefer this version of Dead Skin Mask to Slayer's. It's just creepier sounding and if you're doing a song about Ed Gein, it should be creepy

I think the best voices to try have been David Gahan and Iggy Pop but even those rich voices don’t match his voice. Having said that NiN did a beautiful work there!

@AntisocialTroll 1- Great cover and a great tribute but I don't think anyone compares to dolores o'riordan. It also had a very specific relevance to the time and place.
