Have you been to Preservation Hall? I took a music road trip / pilgrimage a few years ago with my son to Memphis, New Orleans, and Nashville. Preservation Hall was one of our many stops, and being in that hot, cramped room with those creaky wooden floor boards listening to [i]that[/i] band in [i]that[/i] room was a highlight on a trip full of highlights. I can’t recommend it enough if you’ve never done it. @RazorWire

I’ve been to New Orleans once on a school trip with my kid, but we didn’t get to go there. It was a nonstop clusterf&*k of a trip.

If you’re doing a road trip, Memphis is also within striking distance. Sun Records, Stax, and Graceland are all hallowed ground in Memphis, musically speaking. @RazorWire
