What did fourteen year old Mozart do on Spy Wednesday?
Today is [i]“Spy Wednesday”[/i] – to commemorate the day Judas made his deal with the Temple authorities.
In 1770 a father took his fourteen year old son, Wolfi, to Spy Wednesday Mass at the Sistine Chapel. The choir sang Allegri's haunting polyphonic [i]"Miserere mei, Deus"[/i]
Later that night in their hotel room, the young [b]Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart[/b] was not able to sleep. He got up and wrote the entire piece from memory!
