Ever think that a cover of a song was better than the original?

There are a few covers which I prefer to the originals. One is Elvis Presley's version of Chuck Berry's "Promised Land". I like Chuck Berry's version, but Elvis's version really rocks.

Another cover I like better than the original is Mud's version of Buddy Holly's "Oh Boy".

Honestly there are a lot of covers I prefer over the original, just because people are dang good at bringing out different sides of worn-out songs

Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt is great! Also Pentatonix's Acapella cover of Hallelujah.

Saw here play that on the initial Blackeart tour when they opened for Iggy Pop in 1980. It was before the release the next year.
