I Think Too Much

And because of that, I now address these questions to you:

Have you ever cared about someone so much that if the best thing for them was to have nothing to do with you, then you would be fine with it?

Have you ever had conversations with yourself - sometimes audibly - because you were so desperate for any sort of human connection and it didn't matter if it was invented or not?

Have you ever made up words because you were too lazy to find the right one for what you're trying to say?

Have you ever sought purpose, only to find yourself yearning for a brief moment of acceptance?

Have you ever lived down in the ghetto?
Have you ever felt the cold wind blow?
Well if you don't know what I mean,
Won't you stand up and scream
'cause there's things goin' on that you don't know.

Have you ever pondered about those who prefer the window seat? Why stare at what's passing by you when you can face forward and enjoy what's coming up ahead?

Have you ever needed somebody so badly that the mere thought of them can make it feel like they're right on top of you?

Have you ever wondered that if love means making the best of a bad situation with someone else, then respect means doing so by yourself?

Have you ever just... thought?

I've never been in a situation where my presence was detrimental to someone, but I imagine if I loved them, yes, I could let them go. It sounds dreadfully difficult...

I can relate to the conversations. Often, I think up conversations I wish I could be having with someone. So it's more of a dialogue in my head. Sometimes it's out loud. But now that you mention it, maybe it is because I'm craving an actual conversation, and speaking out loud fills that gap. Insightful.

This is beautiful. Thank you for sharing your mind.

Yes to the first two and no to the rest except for the last one. That one, I'm trying to quit.

@LSeule I'm too addicted to quit, I believe, but good luck to you!

@Laerlayan And thank YOU for your excellent comment! This is actually something I wrote a couple years ago on EP that no longer applies (for the most part), but I was randomly thinking about it and figured I'd reshare it since it is stimulating and intriguing. (P.S. the fifth question is lyrics from a Lynyrd Skynyrd song, and I was hoping people would catch on to that 😋...)
