3 Day Non-Dairy Onion Dip
If you are lactose intolerant, it's a real challenge to find substitutes for dairy that do not also contain xanthan gum, which causes similar problems. This actually works very well, and tastes exactly like a good sour cream onion dip, if slightly sweeter.
1 24 oz container of Silk Plain Almond Yogurt
1 package Lipton onion soup mix
Mix together thoroughly the onion soup mix and the yogurt in a medium large bowl.
When finished, make a well inside the yogurt mix.
Refrigerate for three days. Drain the well in the yogurt each day. Use a spoon at first. The dip mixture will gradually thicken as the liquid leaches out into that well.
By the third day, the mixture will be just as thick as sour cream onion dip, and you can drain it by tilting it.
It is just as good as any onion dip I've ever had, and better than some.
Makes enough to serve at a party.
