4meandyou's Chicken Dinner

Rice cooked according to package directions, with 1 heaping tsp chicken bouillon paste per cup of uncooked rice added to water.

1 boneless skinless chicken breast sliced into pieces 1/2" thick

3 tablespoons sesame oil

Garlic powder (unmeasured)

Ginger powder (umeasured)

1 generous pinch hot red pepper flakes

Dark soy sauce, about 1/2 cup

1 cup or more frozen Frenched green beans, cooked

1 small onion, cut into quarters

2 cups chicken broth

2 heaping tablespoons cornstarch dissolved in 1/2 cup of water

Cook rice. After chicken is sliced, season generously on both sides with garlic and ginger powders.

Heat sesame oil in non-stick pan on medium heat, add chicken and onion and brown on both sides. After chicken is browned, splash soy sauce into pan over chicken, reduce heat to low and cook for about 5 more minutes. Remove chicken and onion from pan. Cook green beans 10 minutes in microwave. They will be added last.

Add chicken broth, cornstarch and red pepper to non stick pan and cook while whisking constantly over low heat. Sauce base is done when it becomes a clear dark brown and thickens.

To sauce, add drained cooked green beans, chicken and onions. Stir well, and serve over rice.

@GJOFJ3 It really WAS, and it was an experiment. I knew all of those elements ought to taste great, but I have more misses than hits when I try to give my meals an Asian flavor. This one was a hit. 😊
