If hell exists he belongs there. Along with every American president. All of them have ordered horrific civilian deaths.

There most likely is no hell, but if there were I think we might be hard pressed to find a post world war dead former president that wasn't.

JFK was assassinated in November 1963.
LBJ? Sure. He escalated the conflict. Some good books on LBJ are those by Robert Caro and Robert Dallek. As for movies, Path to War does a good job on how Johnson got drawn in deeper in the quagmire by Robert McNamara and others but ultimately it was a failure of his own making.
But enough about Kennedy. That's a false narrative.

Because there's a difference between what Eisenhower and Kennedy did with sending in a small number of military advisors and what Johnson did, by sending in large numbers of combat troops and the ordering of bombings.
Johnson was afraid of losing all of Vietnam to the communists - as if it was his to lose in the first place. The GOP had for over a decade blamed Truman for losing China to the Reds.
Of course, no one ever talks about how it was the Japanese who fucked up all that part of the world after the European powers had had colonized the whole place. (Don't bring up the Philippines; they would have been independent anyway by the late 1940s as was our plan even before WW2 got in the way.)
