You ever miss video stores?

shit man, i miss the feeling as a kid you would get going to a movie store to rent a few movies aye. The video store that was in my town had this killer horror section in its own seperate room and had hands hanging down from the roof and carpets that looked like they were stained with blood.

now with streaming sites in almost every household and renting movies being a thing of the past, it has made movies feel less special since you dont even have to leave the house to see them

Kind of. Back in my teenage years, I used to work in a video rental store as a co-op job. One of the perks of the job was renting videos for free at shifts end. 馃 Those were good times... Years later, after I moved into town, the video store I worked at became a thrift store and whenever the opportunity arose, I would buy movies on videocassette there for $1.00 a piece, most of which were videos I rented in the past.

No I prefer looking thru the movie lists on netflix and prime.

@SW-User man, 2 mins every morning and night could have prevented that.

true indeed, very true

I know but some parents are self absorbed and shouldnt have had kids.

Yep he sounds like a lot of fun to hang out with. Mine are long gone but they didnt have the personalilty your friends grandpa has.

@SW-User very infuriating

sorry to hear that, mine have also passed away but I was never really close to them since.
Grandparents with good personalities sounds great though
SW-User

@SW-User only shit thing about them was the price per movie lol
SW-User
@Torsten Haha yes. And being there when your favourite one hadnt all been checked out
Torsten36-40, M
@SW-User haha yeah there was certainly some flaws but at least it motivated you to get out of the house quicker to go get that popular movie before all copies were gone

I definitely do; there was one in my hometown called Video Wonderland (they used the Cheshire Cat as their mascot, which I don't think they were allowed to do, but oh well xD)

I rented many an SNES game from them throughout my childhood. :)
Torsten36-40, M
@thepreposterouspanda seems it was easier to get away with stealing copyright material in those days. SNES games were dope

For nostalgia purposes, yeah, but I swear a lot of what I rented was damaged in some way. Especially in the DVD era.
Torsten36-40, M
@raysam363 when dvd's took over I think video stores were doomed. they were always so damaged. VHS was the best, except for having to rewind to watch
raysam36331-35, F
@Torsten Gotta be kind though, always rewind
Torsten36-40, M
@raysam363 damn you just made me remember the rewind ad at the beginning of the VHS haha
MartinTheFirst22-25, M

Torsten36-40, M
