Just went to see Cats today. It was great! I don't understand why it's received so much hate.

It seems to me that most of the people who shot it down went to the film not really knowing what they were actually going to see.

Definitely my experience. When you're job is to be critical, you get very rigorous in your criticism and forget that you're actually just there to be entertained.

We saw it live a few years ago, the dancers were great, the "Memories" song was super! But I was a little disappointed with the rest of the music.

Yeah, "Memories" is a heart-wrenching song. I've never seen it done so well as it was in this film though.
