How do you feel about movie adaptations of video games, anime, comics or books?

Do you feel there has been more hits than misses or vice versa?

The majority are kinda shit, but the bad ones are worth it for the successes. I'll accept all the live action Death Note in the world in exchange for the Harry Potter films.

Anime and video game movies are almost always misses and are notorious for pissing off die hard fans (Dragon Ball Evolution, the last airbender, mortal kombat, street fighter), the only movie adaptation that I can think of that is actually good is Detective Pikachu. Sonic hasn't even come out yet and fans are already complaining about it. But books and comics for the most part have been pretty good in their movie adaptations with films ranging from all genres like Harry Potter, Jaws, Moneyball, The Outsiders, numerous super hero films, etc.
Video game movies are usually shit. Haven't seen many anime ones to comment, comics, well marvel are usually OK but largely samey popcorn filler bar the odd exception (guardians, deadpool). Dc is awful except wonder woman and nolans batman trilogy. Then you have the random comic adaptations that can go either way(Scott pilgrim is probably the best film of its year but watchmen was a painful miss unfortantly)

Books.. There is way to many to even work it out.. Some are great and some not and some in between.

I heard somewhere that The Lego movie is actually good, which surprised me, but i will give it the benefit of the doubt without actually watching it.
