Just watched Game of Thrones.

Depressed.

I was a little disappointed because I hoped the last episode would be more unpredictable actually. But it was an easy way to wrap up everything and fuck with everyone who was team jon and dany. I didn't think it was a bad ending at all

I was talking to my boyfriend the night before it aired and said, Well they aren't going to suddenly insert a happy ending for all this just because the night king is dead now. The older Lannister siblings and Euron will all kill each other off.

And I told him something is going to happen conflict wise between Jon and dany and fuck that all up. I was surprised by what it was though. Jon will leave and go back North to keep the story circular because season one started off with the starks and jon snow and the Night's watch. Nobody supports dany beyond her armies and dragons really, so she'll be thrown off the throne in some way by either Tyrion or Jon or both. And the writers will need to do it in a waythat also gets rid of the symbol and actual chair that is the iron throne-like a convenient dragon fire. so that the ending will feel like something new is happening. Arya will ride off into the sunset like all hollywood trope lone hereos. Starks win, which I thought would happen in season one anyway. Sansa and Brom will split the country. Tyrion will barely survive because well...everyone loves him more then they hate him .

I did love how they almost made the night King almost irrelevent in the end. Turns out humans are a human's worst enemy. The night king was a lesser evil all along. It was a nice touch that I wasn't sure they would pull the story towards as dramatically as they did. Maybe because in reality victors always write history and they cover up the shit they did along the way, and figured like other shows they'd downplay dany and her army going batshit crazy in being a conquering force. I'm glad the writers added it in even if it made people mad that dany "lost her mind".

It was disturbing.

@chrisCA A show that headfucks you to the last. None of the Internet dickhead with their fan theories predicted that.
Murksmonkey · 36-40, M
@Burnley123 really not? I think this was the most GoT-y episode in years
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@Murksmonkey Exactly.
Loved it.

I watched it, and was like WTF?

A good old fashioned building collapse takesout the two villains (though one showed a flash of humanity)? And what's with the guy who doesn't even slow down. Even frigging zombies die, when you stick a dagger through their skull.

I would say a massacre might have been averted, had Jon Snow decided to take one for the team, and bang the Dragon Mother. But no....

Just watched it. Dismal. Although Dany has loyal soldiers, she was correct when she said no one loves her.

Was Lord Varys able to pass on a note with Jon's true identity to that little peasant girl? We saw him burn one before he was executed but I wonder if he was sitting there writing multiple notes.

Can't help but wonder if Tyrion will kill Daenerys although Arya is pretty worked up.

Still don't feel that heel turn was earned.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@CountScrofula I'm in two minds. A lot of foreshadowing happened but very quickly.

@Burnley123 Yeah - they actually had seeds of her being a little too brutal early on in the show and had a slow build but it's...

If someone is going to be a villain you need to kind of identify with where they are and go "Okay, I'd be doing the same in her shoes" and push her to a point where razing the city actually seems like a sensible idea.
