How important is a film's rating on Rotten Tomatoes?

Do you decide which movies to watch or avoid based on those ratings?
LyricalOne · F
To an extent, and there’s a couple of top critics I trust in particular. Their opinions generally concur with mine.

I like watching some movies that have a really bad rating. So I can see just how bad it is for myself. lol

Same. I really enjoy some of the worst movies ever made. @5thApprentice

To me? Nothing.

It's almost always negative comments and piss taking on that site.

Too important unfortunately

I watch them anyways! It doesn't matter to me. Some of the worst rated movies are the best!

I have an affinity for bad movies, so if I see an ungodly low rating, I’ll check it out just for morbid curiosity. @Indy74

No, I go there after I watched a movie to see what others think.

I tend to do that, too. I usually want to know as little as possible going into a movie. @CrazyMusicLover

I’ve been to the site maybe once in the last 4 years
It's really important in our house.

I like IMDB.

I've never heard of it?!🤔[image deleted]

Zero importance to me.
I usually never know that rating until after the fact. But I’m perfectly capable of loving movies that have been thoroughly panned by the critics and even the populace at large. 😏
