Does anyone know the in fiction reason why 99% of the aliens on Star Trek are so, SO human looking?

21stCenturyFox · 26-30, F
Gene Roddenberry ascribed to the scientific idea that intelligent life would usually follow set evolutionary guidelines- thus humanoids.
@21stCenturyFox

I can get behind humanoid. It's a highly effective form.
But THAT humanoid? The only difference being a few different ridges on the face?

That would be shocking.

@Pikachu They had blue and green people too.
@21stCenturyFox

hmm good point lol

I just always thought humans can't connect with things that don't look human. It has something to do with psychology and the brain but I don't remember and too lazy to look it up lol.
@SatanBurger

Well but that would be a narrative reason, right? I'm wondering if there's an in fiction reason. Because if it turned out that most aliens were just humans with a nose ridge and a different culture, i would have to believe in a god lol

Yeah you'd think there'd be a few with an extra eye or a tentacle here or there.
@Allelse

Every now and then you see some non-humanoid aliens. But if aliens were as human as they are in star trek, i think that would be good reason to believe in a god

Kirk was a slut.
@elyay2001

Well that's true. But also a tactical genius
elyay2001 · 46-50, M
@Pikachu You mean a genital genius?
@elyay2001

lol yes. Sorry. I did mean that

Them damn Q

I don't think there ever was an in fiction reason. I think it's all in budget reasons.
