Crash is probably one of the most impactful movies I've ever seen.

@Peaceful @Montanaman
Omg! I loved this movie!
Powerful!
Racism and discrimination on every level. Sad!

@Montanaman you picked 2 of my favorites
Crash and Shawshank
Montanaman · M
@Happymedium 😉 I'm glad.
@Peaceful An amazing movie’

UpForItNow · 22-25, F
Crash, yes, if this is the one about the sexual beings who fetishize car accidents, and Shawshank for sure as this is the favourite movie of almost all males.
Montanaman · M
@UpForItNow that's another movie entitled crash. With James Spader. It's an ego-erotica movie.
The Crash I'm talking about it about racism and touch.

@UpForItNow @thewindupbirdchronicles @Montanaman
I think both Crash films were interesting for different reasons and in different ways. I just don’t hear many people talk about the David Cronenberg one but I definitely found it strangely intriguing. The other Crash movie was impactful for it’s critique of modern society and human nature and relationships. Both were fascinating in different ways in my opinion.
@2cool4school I think I have watched both, but you have given me reason to watch each again.

You ought to know what he yells from this scene:

and this scene from crossover still gives me goosebumps. There's another scene where she cries that feels so realistic and un-staged that I fell in love with younger Bishil's acting potential for it, but she's somewhat disappointed me with her consequent work (Sorry Summer!)

[youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyYA7Idc63I]

and for those of you who are easily queasy, you may want to skip this one. It speaks for itself in terms of 'powerful scenes', but you've been warned. This is from "Brawl in Cell Block 99"

The movie with the most unique and sensitive, sweetly sad ending I've ever seen is 'The Unbearable Lightness of Being'. The film's womanizing 'hero' could be disturbing for some; especially for any militant feminist - but it's a well-made film.

I like the way it interweaves the story with scenes of the unforgettable 'Prague Spring' (Czech uprising.)

Montanaman · M
@Really I'll have to see this one! 👍👍❤️
Littlewing · 36-40, F
The Shawshank Redemption. My favourite movie.
TexChik · F
I loved Heat and Wind River. I haven’t seen Crash.
I have found South Korean writers have a very beautiful way of creating character pieces in movies. They borrow Woody Allen in ability of storytelling and at the same time create something more moving emotionally in character.
I'll try to find one for reference. I watch a lot of movies.
Check out the director, Hong Sangsoo. Often a subdued style of writing and directing, but often those create better glances within character stories.

The Kingdom (2007) ending scene.
Both this scene and the one just before it that makes (up the epiphany of the film ) as well as very powerful to me.
Montanaman · M
@2cool4school "Kill them all."

God, I Love that movie 💞
2cool4school · 46-50, F
@Montanaman I think it’s actually the scene where that’s said for the second time in the film (by the bomb maker) and the way Jennifer Garner finds the marble that just makes for the foundation to what makes a powerful message.
Hard to say, I prefer the more silent enigmatic cinematography kind... the silence between the scenes.

[c=#666666]Oh man, this is too much for me, crying while watching that scene from Crash. I think I'll leave it there.[/c]
I’m gonna have to go with the opening beach landing in Saving Private Ryan.
Really · 80-89, M
@Montanaman And I'll view both those Crash films; thanks.

@Montanaman is is impossible not to cry for me when i watch this
Montanaman · M
@Sarah123 I love those moments 💞😢
FuzeBar · 26-30, M
For me it's the scene in the Deer Hunter where they're all drinking and singing after the wedding and the deer hunt and then one of them begins to play Chopin on the bar piano and it cuts through the mood like a knife. The characters get their first moment of quiet contemplation in the movie and then it cuts directly to the horrors of the Vietnam War. It's always stuck in my mind.

Edit: found the scene

FuzeBar · 26-30, M
Definitely. Savage, DeNiro, and Walken were at the top of their game in those, especially the latter 2.
UpForItNow · 22-25, F
@Montanaman It was the most intense, immediate and memorable scene in all of mainstream war cinema. Its unforced repetition and outcome, in the post-war local gambling scene, was truly ghastly.
Montanaman · M
@UpForItNow pure insanity. As war is.

Shawshank Redemption.
@SmartKat 🙂
Andy Dufresne: Remember Red, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.

Andy Dufresne: You know, the funny thing is, on the outside I was an honest man, straight as an arrow. I had to come to prison to be a crook.
