Your fave Tom Hanks movie?

Philadelphia

Also, I think the TV show, "Bosom Buddies" is worth mentioning.

@JustLikeGreta

I think it must be a combination of talent, luck, fate, destiny, and being in the right place at the right time, and probably some other variable(s).
@Byron8by7 True. 😎
@JustLikeGreta Talent, luck and how hard you want to work. The reason I say this is Joan Blondell said she could have been as good as Bette Davis but didn't work hard enough. They were in the same class in the early 1930's. Joan did very well until the 40's but didn't push herself and Bette was so-so in the 30's but excelled in later years.
Tom Hanks has the talent and probably works on his craft as well.

The Green Mile or Forrest Gump. Or should I say Sully?

Apollo 13, Philadelphia, and another where he plays a hit man on the run with his young son. I can’t remember the name. I think it was Paul Newman’s last film. Just looked it up Road to Perdition. Really good!

Big, with Saving Private Ryan a close second....probably because I would rather laugh than get real emotional. Ryan is a great movie but hard for me to watch.
@bowman81 Big is fun. Saving Private Ryan is considered to be one of the best war movies. I agree per watching it.
therighttothink50 · 56-60, M
Saving Private Ryan. You've Got Mail. Castaway. Big.
@therighttothink50 Love Castaway. Big was pretty funny, he was so young then.

The Ladykillers
@JustLikeGreta Me, too. I have my favorites. Are you religious?
@PhoenixPhail yes, but do not attend a church
@JustLikeGreta I used to attend, but not anymore.
He's had so many good ones.
The one I've seen most recently, is "The Ladykillers."
It's hysterical.
@PhoenixPhail He has proven he is very diverse. I still think he should have won Best Actor for his role in Saving Private Ryan.
@GrayGhost Yes, that was an incredible movie.
Peaches · F
I loved him in "The Green Mile." I actually cried when I first watched it.
bowman81 · M
Two of them....Saving Private Ryan and Big

So many good ones. I guess I will say, Catch Me If You Can.
I loved his initial TV series more than his movies.
The Ladykillers
@InOtterWords Hanks had the ability to seem so childlike.
@JustLikeGreta his face was so innocent.

I also love Toy Story 2
