Just returned from seeing Wes Anderson's "Isle of Dogs"...

As of right now, I'm kindof at a loss at to just what I thought of it.

It was very avant-garde and a bit hard-to-follow at times (due to the rapid pacing, although ironically the movie was a bit slow to get going at first). Beautiful animation from beginning to end, just I thought it was a bit darker and more depressing than it needed to be in places for a movie that's supposed to be a comedy.

I love Wes Anderson and I've enjoyed every movie I've seen of his, so I imagine I will like this one too. His movies aren't always strictly comedies and often do have some darker elements (think the suicide attempt in The Royal Tenenbaums). Either way, nice to read a review.

@SW-User Haven't seen "The Royal Tenenbaums" myself and I've only been watching Anderson's work since "Moonrise Kingdom" (which I loved).

Anyway, I certainly didn't dislike it, it's just that it may be that I need to see this one a couple more times to get the most out of it.

"The Grand Budapest Hotel" was the one movie of his that I just couldn't get into at all.
