And this year's (2021) ratings were horrendous. I wonder how the advertisers felt.

It's obviously about the politics... I honestly haven't been watching anything that involves these things like I used to... Entertainment used to be entertainment.. If they were wise they would have kept their mouths shut..

Even if you're voting against a certain party, when you publicize it.. You can't expect your numbers to go up... Not with how offensive and demeaning they've been with all their actions..

Sorry but Hollywood is a conglomerate of hypocrites who don't practice what they preach... They tell everyone to vote a certain way or to believe in what they believe in.. About how the side they've picked to rub elbows with is the better side.. For more of the poor..

But if that was the case they could VOLUNTARILY not be living in million dollar homes etc... Sorry but you don't need a government to change a tax plan in order for you to show your true colors... The fact that a lot still like Hollywood is surprising to me simply because of this fact.. They tell everyone to vote for the left. Yet why are the RICH and ELITE seeming to tell the POOR to do so????????? Does that really add up? I mean honestly?

But besides that point, they've ruined a lot of old names. There only chance really is to revive the industry with new names in Hollywood who even if they do vote against a certain party, All in one big giant circle jerk... At least know how to keep quiet enough about it that they lose half their viewers...

I've honestly no plans to support people who've marked me as their enemy, the fact that they're astounded by the lack of support for them despite the horrid trash they say about voters is atrociously unintellectual... It just shows how much of a God complex they have... They believe the own shit that spews from their mouths... Yet they don't even practice what they preach.. The majority of them are revolting and disgusting..

My main source of entertainment stems from videogames and Japanese entertainment.. There's no point in giving my money to assholes who constantly wish me ill. I hope they rot for the tyranny they've attempted to cause.

Prior to the 2016 election, I didn't realize there were so many flaming a-holes and such a massive level of stupidity in Hollywood, but unfortunately, a lot of them started flapping their mouths, and now I wouldn't watch most of them do anything if you paid me.

After seeing Gone with the wind as a child I wanted to be Clark
Clark Gable, Van Heflin, Gary Cooper & Jimmy Stewart in 1957
katielass · F
@rckt148 you got them all right. Yea!
laotzu92 · 70-79, M
@rckt148@katielass You did get them all right. I think James Stewart was the tough one due to the angle and his expression.
katielass · F
@laotzu92 Yes, once I saw he said Jimmy Stewart then I could see it. Same for Gary Cooper. They don't make 'em like that anymore.

Sorry to say I don't recognize them. I listened to the news today, and some of the media said the Academy Awards were so boring and long and dragged out that it felt like the endless loop of hell watching it, and Kimmel dragged out his tired old Trump jokes. I would assume that Hollywood has shot itself in the foot by politicizing our entertainment. Personally, I listen to some of my previously favorite actors and actresses and I say to myself, "OMgosh!!! I didn't know he/she was an a$$!!!" It sure makes it easy to give them a miss.

@4meAndyou see rckt148's identification above.
I think you are absolutely right.

It’s just so tiresome watching celebrities pat themselves on the back. I had absolutely no interest in watching.
We are now old farts who remember the golden years of Hollywood.
Maybe either drink more wine or die because these days of cinema is 99℅ crap.
One of my favs is Gregory Peck.
No one since has come even remotely close.
There are many others.
Orson Wells, Josef Cotten, E G Robertson, Audrey Hepburn, Gray Grant, James Cagney to name only a few.

I am too old for this modern shit.
laotzu92 · 70-79, M
@Robynthebeautiful Those were the golden years. To those you listed, you could easily add Randolph Scott, Tyrone Power, Stewart Granger; and Bette Davis and Marlene Dietrich.

Four talented gentlemen who let their fine work speak for them!

I think it is because of computer games and social media. If you look attendance is down for sports also. Things are changing now people don't even get together like they did before. They do it all on computers. They even say that young people are having less sex. Scary when you think about it.
katielass · F
isn't that Clark Gable on the left? And Van Heflin next to him? Can;t tell the next one with his face wrinkled up like that and the one on the right I have no idea.

Revisiting the above post.
The most recent "Oscars" broadcast viewership was 20% below last year and the worst in its broadcast history.

Gone are those Days, Thank God lol
The politics bothers me less, because many current stars are progressives like myself, but I tend not to watch award shows, not the Grammys, Emmys, Tonys, either.
