Has anyone seen the movie IT?

I saw the movie Friday night. I loved seeing the movie pictures from the 80's. Did anyone else see a similarity to the original Nightmare on Elm Street?

I saw Mark Kermode's review on BBC News on Saturday.
He said there are lots of nods to previous incarnations of IT; Nightmare on elm Street and others.
