I Have a Suggestion for Similar Worlds

Personally, it would not hurt my feelings any if SW would remove the 'questions' part of this site and go back to just posting and writing stories in groups as it used to be. I just think it would be more interesting, and it could help cut down on the clutter and even problems that the forum often has. In the very least might just have that box of categories so that when clicked on, only the posts under that particular one would come up. Very little (almost no) attention gets paid to the groups anymore...like I'm writing this here in this group and just wondering who if anybody will actually see it. People are often posting out there and saying how they miss EP and this would be a good way to bring some of that atmosphere back. Others post how boring it is here, and that 'questions' thing does get boring and uninteresting much of the time. Just something to think about, I mean I don't think the entire site needs change as I like how it works much better here. I'm just talking about this one detail.

I agree that there should not be the separation. Questions and Stories. Many people write stories that get few or no views
Stories, and blogs and confessions, made EP a support site first and foremost. When users wanted assistance with an issue and want to talk of it in detail it was a story they poster- or replied to if they could offer assistance. Questions were secondary. When the 2012 app came along lot less continues reading stories on their cell and questions became a quick , and simple diversion. but social media itself, as it was intended back in the 1980's was meant to be enjoyed on a PC and not any other device. Laptops were of the next decade.

I would like that as well as questions now is a cesspool of stuff that is not even a question. And the triteness does get boring. but then SW existed as a SOCIAL site and not a support site. how ever it has become a "support site wannabe" b tit is still a social site. Cheap humor, memes, gifs, nonsense, and frivolity seem to rue the day on questions.

I would like what you would like. Yes many miss EP but they do nothing to help create the site like we once had at EP.

@Elandra77 I don't mind some of the things you mentioned (humor, memes, gifs, even frivolity...in moderation), but why could it not happen within a group setting. I mean it can be a social site as well as support site. Just like in the questions people can pick and choose what they pay attention to and ignore in each group, but I think it wouldn't be as cluttered and chaotic.

@Elandra77 Yes but the old EP disappeared long before it was gone.😔 I personally like the Questions section, even if some of it is a little nuts!🤪It can help relieve stress for some. EP used to be a place for stories only, but the times they are changing. Not everyone can write stories and need a place to go just the same, so SW is it!😉

You make some very good points. There's much more of an emphasis on questions as opposed to stories here and even the most inane questions will often get many more views and replies than the most thoughtful, well-written stories. This is a contrast from how it was on EP, where stories got a lot more attention.

At the moment, I've got two stories ready to go, but I'm wondering if I should even bother posting them. In fact, I'm not sure it's worth my time and effort to write anything at all from here on out. I'll probably post the two I just wrote, but that might be it for quite a while.

That said, I don't favor removing the questions section here. I do enjoy interacting on some of the less-dumb questions and have had some success with the very few that I've posted. And remember, EP did have an active Q&A section. It's just that there was a different culture there with a different emphasis. Ultimately, I fear that getting rid of the questions part of the site--because it is so popular--would cause a mass exodus from SW, seriously threatening its future viability.
When did SW never have a Questions forum? I have been on and off this site and EP for years and I never remember the Questions forum never being here?

🙂

I think they should bring back the Confessions forum. Lots of questions get asked as a statement - that would be better served in Confessions.

They've not removed the disgusting groups yet like they promised. It's often why most women I know avoid this tab.

I personally like the Questions section, some are creative and can come up with some pretty good questions. 🍀Not everyone can write stories and need to be included some how. 🤔

so you use the questions portions to post your comment, the one you want taken away, do i have that right

@Blondgrl2004 I posted it under the group...it just showed up here (it automatically did), I did not post here thank you.
