I Have a Suggestion for Similar Worlds

Page scrolls to the top every time I hit the back button. Quite frustrating. Latest Firefox (57.0.1).

Hello,

Can you please provide more details about the problem?

On every site, if I press the back button, I expect it to go to the top of the previous page I was in. Is this not what happens on Similar Worlds?

Thank you,
Nuno

@Nuno It has always (for years!) been the default behaviour of any web browser I've used to go back (or forwards) to the same point in the page you were on before, not what you describe. However, on SW when I go backwards (or forwards) I am always taken to the top of the page (what you describe), no matter where I was on the page when I clicked the link that took me somewhere else.

Hello,

Ok, I see. I think you're right. The behavior you described became a standard, since a few years ago.

Unfortunately, that behavior can't by the default be enabled on Similar Worlds, because of the "modern" technology we use to make SW be more like an "app", but can definitely be implemented, if manually by us.

I will note your suggestion to look into very soon.

Very kind regards.

@Nuno I assume you mean standard on SW, because I don't see it anywhere else on the Web. But I appreciate your taking my suggestion on board.

@ninjavu I meant the behavior of auto-scrolling to the place you were before is a standard now :) very long ago, going back always sent us to the top. Anyway - I'm saying that you're right and we should look into this.

@Nuno Right. And I've never actually seen anything "auto-scroll" (unless it was some sort of JavaScript-commanded function); the page is just redisplayed (not even reloaded) in the same place right from the cache. I won't argue with you on the matter of what happened "very long ago" because my recollection of minutiae like this doesn't go back 20+ years. :)

Appreciate your engaging on this though. It looks good on you and SW.
