On this day in 1945 the first Plutonium bomb was dropped on the most Christian city in Japan, which had been first evangelized in 1549 by Jesuit missionaries led by St. Francis Xavier. What the Japanese Imperial government could not do in 250 years of persecution American Christians did in mere seconds. [c=#BF0000]http://bit.ly/1KYjTB5[/c] From the rubble of the cathedral the charred head of a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary was discovered, which has been taken on a pilgrimage around the world, which included a stop in Rome, where it was blessed by Pope Benedict XVI. The haunting statue was then placed in a small chapel, on the right side of the rebuilt St. Mary’s Urakami Cathedral, where it has been revered by the faithful ever since: [c=#BF0000]http://bit.ly/2aPvlCw[/c]
