I Support the Spread of Christianity

But not people who threaten you'll go to hell if you don't convert. I like Christians. My mother's catholic, my father's side of the family is baptist, and I've had several christian friends throughout my life, so I know most Christians aren't about scaring people into worshiping a certain deity lest they burn in hell's flames for eternity. But today while I was grocery shopping at the nearby Kroger, a random stranger approached me and handed me a small pamphlet promoting Christianity, and not in a good way. Here are two of the paragraphs, to give a good example:

"Should you reject God and go to hell, you will never again be bothered by a Christian giving you a Gospel tract. Nor will you have to worry about anyone knocking on your door and inviting you to church again. However, you will remember every sermon you ever heard, and every kind word from a Christian friend pleading with you to be saved.

"The Bible tells the story of a man who went to hell. It says, '...the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.' (Luke 16:22-24) Should you reject God and the opportunities He has given you to trust Him, you too will one day be like the rich man that you just read about. You will be crying and begging for one drop of water to cool your scorched tongue, but it will be too late!"

And a later one saying:

"Please do not reject God. The Bible gives you this final warning: ' And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.' (Revelation 20:15) Let God write your name in the Book of Life. Trust Him today!"

See where I'm going with this? People need to follow a religion by their own choosing, not frightened into it because they want to be saved. And with more and more people bashing religion these days, this really isn't the way to teach people about one's faith!
People who are attracted to that crap are compensating for their own deficiencies. The only way they can feel good about themselves is by imagining everyone who doesn't agree with them will be tormented for eternity. And invariably, they follow the most vicious, hateful conservative ideology - they hate abortion, LGBT, women, foreigners, and Democrats; they fetishize guns, idolize the military and the police (but hate the government), and deify business and the "free market." And many of them believe that Donald Trump was chosen by God and can do no wrong.

These people follow a degenerate religion that would be unrecognizeable to Jesus. As one character in a Woody Allen film said, if Jesus knew what people were doing in his name, he would never stop vomiting.

I have made my life a ministry to spread the Word wherever I could.
@RebeccaSJ Have you ever heard "evangelize constantly. Occasionally, use words."

Living your life in such a way as to be an example for others is very honorable. Walking up to strangers and "spreading the Word" on the other hand is obnoxious.

I dont. I support the giving up of all religion, especially any form of monotheism. I mean bloody hell if you're going to insist on being religious, atleast be a bloody Buddhist!
