Are you expecting World War III in this decade? If yes, how will it start?

It'll be a decade before anybody can afford a war.

I've heard every year of my life that World War III is going to happen soon. Same with Armageddon and any other end-of-the-world scenarios. 47 years in, and not yet. I'm not going to worry about it until it actually happens.

I am more anticipating civil war. As with civil wars everywhere, it will start when the military is told by upper command to shoot Americans who are defying certain government orders.

In my life time perhaps. The world is changing especially fast, we see the growth of china and the rise of developing countries.

Whenever there a major change in the world order there's friction.

people have been "predicting" ww3 for decades.

In actuality, it's the people who preach peace and give lectures about saving the world that are most likely to start one...

When I was 10, (back in 1996) I was expecting World War 3 to happen in the year 2000.

This world today is hesitant to start overt hundreds of thousands of soldiers boots on the ground wars because warfare has changed.

More nations than ever have nuclear capabilities, chemical capabilities, viral warfare and highly effective solitary terroristic kamikaze style actions of war are common now in relatively safe civilian areas.

We are always at war. At this very moment many countries including the USA have soldiers engaged in war.
Will it ever escalate again to the level of WW2 numbers of nations fighting? Maybe. Probably but with each generation of increased technology the rules and nature of war change and the carnage increases.
Boots on the ground in great numbers are no longer needed in the same way in many areas of the world.

Maybe in a Marvel film! Or some other film, not in real life.

Not expecting that until late 2030s at earliest.
