What was it like when your love was deployed?

My man won’t deploy until two years. But I’m still wondering what it will be like and what to do.
It's hard to be away from each other, you will miss them but there is some communication. My spouse was able to call occasionally, though I never knew when that would be. There wasn't much privacy because he couldn't get good reception in his room, so he had to call from this recreation area that always had a lot of other people around.

There are great programs to help out with children while your spouse is deployed. I highly suggest using those if you have children.

Best thing to do is get in touch with your key spouse on base. They can help you through the transition and any questions or resources you'll need concerning deployments.

@midnightrose key spouse?
@londonbr1dge I'm not sure which branch you're in so they may be called something different, but in the Air Force a key spouse helps new member spouses feel connected in the unit.
