@TheunderdogofNY Contracts are different. And I really didn't know what I was getting into at that age. You violate a contract and you have to pay the consequences, even if you don't understand the terms. There is no choice in it.

@DeWayfarer I don't disagree with anything you have stated. I'm saying one should be willing to make a choice to violate the agreement and accept the consequences of their actions or even resign if possible.

@TheunderdogofNY Resigning was not possible. Enlistment is not like commissioning. And in a military environment I can understand why. Can't have people deserting.

Outside of extreme cases, yeah. We can't have cops refusing to follow a law over petty political disagreements, but we also don't want cops who will accept orders to slay dissidents.

They should have some leeway to use discretion. The elderly lady in Florida that was arrested for having CBD oil at Disney World, she didn’t have a prescription for it because her home state didn’t require it. The police were called, they arrested her, but they dropped the charges.
@cherokeepatti yep, cops worried about CBD oil when they got pharmacists pushin out stuff ten times worse. LOL

@SheCallsMeCrushDaddy I know, even Ambien is much worse. I use CBD oil and they won’t even allow it on a plane because the laws vary from state-to-state. It would be good for people with anxiety to be able to have it on a plane while flying.
i don't think military should be for law enforcement. that's a police matter.

@TheunderdogofNY Two different agencies. See Uniform code of military justice.
TheunderdogofNY · 36-40, M
@DeWayfarer this is true but both enforce the laws they fall under.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@TheunderdogofNY No laws as such under the UCMJ. Rules yes. But no laws. The rules are not up to interpretation by a judge.

They don't.
Both law enforcement and military have the ability to not only question but refuse to follow an order if they feel it is an unlawful order.

No. I think everyone should use common sense and not blindly follow orders
