Are Recruiters Really That Busy?

My recruiter for the Coast Guard told me to give him a week to get a meps date for me. Well it's a week later I contact him and he tells me to give him an hour to get back to the office and he'll let me know. Well he never contacted me back yesterday. I was gonna text him today but I know cuz of the snow everywhere is closed and he won't be in. So now I'm waiting even longer to try to find out what's going on. Are recruiters really that busy that they completely forget about people their trying to recruit? I mean the guy seemed really impressed with me when I was in the office and said it was rare that I had absolutely no medial problems whatsoever, not even a broken bone and gave me the Helmsman Coast Guard Basic Training book in Advance and said that he doesn't think there's gonna be any reason why I couldn't get in. So I'm just wondering if this guy is giving me the run around or what?

Unfortunately, it's not just this guy and it has nothing to do with you, this is just how places like that are. You could try somewhere else but it's very unlikely it'll work out any better. They'll still take a stupidly long time to do something that takes barely any time at all, then somehow still not have it done and only end up getting it done after you contact them a few more times about it. They can be slack as fuck but they'll get up you and maybe drop you if you are. It's bullshit.

@Redstar like honestly I feel like nothing has gotten done since last week. It can't take this long just to get a stupid date for meps. All he had to do was send in my packet that I already had filled out for him and wait for meps to reply. Should've taken a few days tops.

@MarineBob well I've heard recruiter hopping is frowned upon and I've already spent like 2 weeks working with this guy. I mean does it seem like he just doesn't care or what?

Recruiters have quotas to fill, your job probably isn't on this one's quota

@SandInMyShoes coast guard doesn't really have quotas as much as other branches cuz it's a lot smaller and has a high retention rate. Also in the Coast Guard you pick your job after basic not before.
