If it is the case it would be disastreous! But one cannot know what China is ever up to but we know that China serves their own interests ONLY and foremost.

Well I think China stands to lose a lot if they did that however depends on what you would consider "peace."
I guess I could have this wrong and this is based on my observations but I always thought China was communist. I kind of thought that China and N. Korea get a long personality wise they seem to have the same goals except China seems a bit more manipulative.
They still have a religious sect in prison. I don't understand why but they were arrested like some years ago and there's 100s still in there. There was a big documentary about how cruelly they have been treated. If you think about it that's sort of what happens in N. Korea.
Then apparently dissents disappear a lot in China. They were talking about forced confessions and people disappearing after they were arrested.

Then there's lists of modern day ones that have disappeared as recently as last year.

I don't think so.China have a lot of investments around the world and they won't jeopardise them by going against those countries that want to do something about N.Korea.
Their primary concern is money.

they need to go in there and whoop kimbo mow mow to a pulp that's for sure.

China wants peace (status quo) because if Kim dies or gets tossed out; then N. Koreans will flood into China by the millions!

I don't think China wants fighting at it's doorstep, especially when that fighting involves nukes.
@VeronicaPrincess , Rooster, and Some1else, These are all good points, that I find pretty comforting to be perfectly honest. I think maybe the 'news' might be sensationalizing the threat of imminent war just a little bit right now too.
