I Don't Want to Grow Old [Growing Old]

I've come to dread birthdays now. I'm getting older and it's really freaking me out. Just feels like yesterday I was 18. Where did the time go? I'm afraid time will run out before I figure out how to really live instead of just exist. It's not a good feeling.

I try not to think about it as it can freak me out too, main thing is focus on life itself and don't obsess about age and time

i'm going to be 40 in a few short days.. eh, it's an number the government uses against you going "you're too young to retire".

the problems i have aren't age related, sorted or inspired.

they hang with me always, i think i'll even get a beer and they can grill up some steaks for me....

i don't feel a thing............................ time never runs, it sticks around making us feel like we should be remembering to do something but what?

You may have to grow old, but you don't have to grow up.

Seriously though, my advice is simply not to be afraid. Thinking about travel? Do it. Want a new job? Get one.

At the end of your life, you will regret the things you did not do...

"Regret for the things we did can be tempered by time; it is regret for the things we did not do that is inconsolable." - Sydney J. Harris

I remember reading a great story about a hospice nurse who had been with countless people when they passed. And she said that, far and away, the most common thing she'd hear them say at the end of the life is, "I wish I didn't work so much."
So...

I read some where that instead of thinking of your age in years, think of it as levels in a game. So instead of being 30 years old, you can say you reached level 30 in the real game of life and you have the experience to show for it.

hello i know its scary and nobody is getting out of this "alive" lol but the good news is as we get older we learn to appreciate our life and hopefully we dont run out of time to do everything we want to do...it could be worse!!

hi howsab
Read The Female Brain by Louanne Brizendene. It is like a user manual. I remember her talking about this feeling women have especially after having had kids and they leave home.
Best wishes

Learn from past mistakes , don't repeat them ... do things you haven't done yet and do them well . Enjoy the moment ... that's living
