I Have An Unpopular Opinion

I'm not sure how (un)popular this opinion actually is, but here it goes:
I think bullies whose actions eventually lead to the suicide of their victims should be put into jail for a lifetime.
The process of bullying is basically stabbing someone's soul/sanity more and more until it's hardly bearable for the victim anymore so that they think suicide is the only option.
I wonder why people even think it's fun mentally killing people just because they don't like them the way they are...

Mental abuse is so difficult to prove and the problem is that which is within the bully themselves. I agree with you - it baffles me why someone has to make another human being feel so bad and to the point of suicide, as you say. They should certainly be made to face accountability for their actions.

I think that is a crime. Harassment, mental cruelty or psychological abuse and possibly threats.

Dunno about life or proving it but pretty sure there's crimes involved there.

I don't think a bully should end up in prison, unless (s)he/other broke a law that was reasonable. Also, a lot of bullies have mental issues, so simply sending them to prison doesn't improve matters.

Causing someone death isn't necessarily a crime (or a bad thing). More importantly, if you bullied someone & (s)he/other killed h(im/er)self/otherself, you're not (legally) the cause of the death; the cause of the death would be suicide, etc.. You might deserve to die, but you should have to legally justify it.
The punishment for abuse should also have to be the same, whether the abused commited suicide. The reason I point this out's because Causing a person's death is a reasonable crime suggests that it's not as much as a crime if the abused happens to not commit suicide.

I don't agree, because you see, people regret and change. I don't think that a kid should be offed from being young and stupid.

@Emosaur well there's clearly a case to case element to this one
