I would love the chance and be able to restore that
slate roof ,,
Thats what I love doing
restoring something assumed lost

@TheJagsman so far around every window and door
no one calked anything when this place was built apparently
but he said another service was sent from the power company to
Winterize the place ,,fix all the windows and under pin so cold air could not blow underneath ,but they must have got paid and didn't do the job either
Because every sheet of sheet rock I have popped off ,,I find damage
Studs look like cork ,,just eaten up ,and around ever window the damage goes all the way to the Floor Joists ,and some of them don't go all the way to the outside band ,,it was poorly built ,then I think he was ripped off again
but it will be new except the siding when I am done
Even that will have new siding nails ,,I have to nail it back to the new studs
Its the first patch job I have ever done thats turning into a rebuild
Normally the places I restore ,at least the structure is sound ,,not this one

I love old buildings. The quality of construction is evident in each detail. Very nice photos. Thank you for sharing.

@SweetMae In the last year there's been a spate of abandoned buildings being brought back into use, one hopes this will follow suit
