What is it like being LGBT for you?

For me,it's a pretty "normal" life. I'm married...14 yrs with a marriage license...28 yrs committed. I have achieved things I was once told I wouldn't while "being gay". Like anyone would really choose a life of discrimination and ridicule for that absolute fun of it. And,I've definitely experienced the discrimination and prejudices of others, but haters are going to hate and I don't let that hate define my direction. Overall,I'm happy. I have a good family,am usually happily married,have the best fur-babies,2 decent cars,a home,an education, a career, and a retirement plan. Being true to who I am and accepting every part of myself hasn't always been easy, but I feel I have always been worth it.

It was pretty fucked up as a teen, but now it's chill and fun. 😌

It's no different than being anything else.
I'm an active member of that community in thought and acceptance, but not in behavior. I'm straight. But someone being active in the LGBT community, makes no difference to me, whatsoever. It's just a preference, like preferring one color over another. Why would I care what color someone prefers?

No complaints most of the time. I have accepting supportive parents, I live in a liberal area where being LGBT is not a big deal, and I have a boyfriend. Compared to a lot of LGBT people out there, I have it pretty easy.

I'm getting sick and tired of the boxes that society tries to cram me into and I reject the whole damn system.

I don't know from LGBTQ+. I like girls. Sometimes I like guys. Sometimes I like both. That's as far as it goes.

It is simply a part of who I am.

I like it... I used to hide the fact that I like guys... But I don't anymore because that's who I am if nobody likes it that is their problem and not mine
