Honest question what laws on the books other than marriage and military keep lgbtq individuals from having their rights and what rights

And what rights don't they have that cis gender do?

Really, I think the lack of laws protecting trans folks is the bigger issue. It's kind of ridiculous how there's no federal law stating that trans people are a protected class like race and gender. A shopkeeper can walk up to someone and literally say, "Leave my store because you're trans" in most states, and the trans person would be obligated to leave under penalty of tresspassing.

They're also not always protected under hate crime laws.
We are humans the honest truth is it won't change @BlueVeins

@Master5dad that's a perfect world you described. You're right, it'd be amazing if that's the way it was, but too many people don't want to live in that world. It's up to us, you and me and the others who feel the way you do to start it and push for it :) cheers :)
I mean what was the old saying we were raised on treat others the way you want to be treated @SarahAndSamantha

LGBTQ isn't a protected class as it pertains to Civil Rights laws. As an example, they're not fully protected against discrimination (ie: employment, housing) in 30 states.
Why do we need a protected class ? Shouldn't it just be individual not class that we protect?@Ynotisay

@Master5dad Uh...ok. But we don't protect all individuals, do we? That's sort of the point of anti-discrimination laws.

I'm sure you wouldn't be here acting like lgbtq people are just secretly wanting extra rights if you were legally denied basic rights for bullcrap reasons.
I'm not acting like anything I think everyone should be treated the same and fairly I'm just asking exactly what rights they don't have because I honestly don't know I'm not assuming anything so please don't assume bad intentions on me @DunDunDun
Yeah just protect individuals thats what I'm saying why do we have different classes ? And it seems like they want more protection than that I mean insulting and lgbtq person seems to have very harsh consequences and in Canada if you don't use the right pronoun there is a fine which seems a bit extreme
I agree up to a point in the future there will be another class being oppressed so just preempt this by protecting individuals @SarahAndSamantha

@Master5dad you are right. There never seems to be an end. Always a new class. But you keep coming back to the 'protecting individuals' thing, and while it's a noble goal, individuals do not get protected (at all) until there is class protection. Which is why there's always a new class to be oppressed
That's why I agree with libertarians they are all about the individual @SarahAndSamantha
