Is pride month important why or why not?

What is your opinion about pride month?

What is it's significance (or lack thereof) in today's world?
DonHobag · M
It must be important because it triggers mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging homophobes and phony Christians
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@DonHobag Haha I answered something like this also although I like the way you put it much better.
NicoleA · 26-30, F
Personally, for me it’s important, just because of what I have gone through for being a lesbian. Maybe it isn’t as important to other LGTBQ members personally, but to each his own.

Leftist Liberal Logic: If a pastor is preaching, yell and complain and say don’t shove religion in our face or down our throats. But let’s shove a whole month of LGBT stuff down theirs
DonHobag · M
@Djac17 Aww... Come up Boston and march in the Super Happy Fun America Gay Pride festival! The Grand mnarshall is pedophile apologist and gay british citizen, Milio Yiannopolis
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Djac17 That's not entirely true. Most of those street pastors willingly go and shove themselves in those parades with a bunch of people they clearly disprove of with the intent of forcing their religion on them. So yeah most people will generally complain because Christians never think that there are LGBT people who are religious as well as atheist or secular, those street preachers only want an excuse to be bigoted.

Reminds me of the Dearborn Michigan incident, a bunch of Muslims threw trash at a preacher and the media blew up about christian persecution. In real life he was carrying a pigs head to "ward" them off (even though the bible prevents eating from pigs also but I know Christians love cherry picking so point is irrelevant) and this is the same preacher who said women shouldn't vote, gay people should be imprisoned.

He's in a literal documentary about extremist hate preachers.

So most of those people who willingly go on the streets and insert themselves where they don't belong don't have good intentions to begin with 🤷‍♀️
ZERO relevance.....other than the fact that lacking all sense of decorum and public morals they are an affront o children who happen to witness the side show.

@anythingoes477 You have no comeback. I love winning! #MAGA 😂
@DonHobag You're even more stupid than I thought you were. If you won't drop it---I'll drop you.
DonHobag · M
@anythingoes477 You've been owned 🐐😂
You may wish to re-think your comments before you go off half-cocked. Just saying

It is important in asserting that LGBT people have come a long way in recent years, and will not be marginalized or stand for being persecuted for who they/we are.

Pride month and coming out parties are stupid af.
Ewitsu · F
@DonHobag I'm just saying. If they wanted to blend in the crowd and seem "normal" why do they have to make a big deal out of it? And saying anti straight and born men/women stuff doesn't help
DonHobag · M
@Ewitsu Who says "Anti Straight" stuff? I never have.

Thank your stars you aren't called a Faggot, Queer, Cocksucker, Ass-Pirate, Poofter, lesbo, dyke, shit packer, abomination, etc, etc, etc

If y'all can't tolerate being called a "breeder" your skins are fucking thinner than gays. Just saying
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@DonHobag Even though I'm more bi.. I kind of say anti straight stuff occasionally but only in the use of irony. I think anti LGBT people don't understand when it's used to illustrate a point, they're so dense.

There's a really great site that used the term heterosexual agenda as a satire to write on all the bad straight parents out there in the news, it's called box turtle bulletin.

So every now and then I also use the phrase but it's only meant to be sarcastic.

I love using phrases against people to see how they like it, I find that most of the time people do not like it at all and call me mean or bigoted.

I can't help but think to myself "if you think I'm mean or bigoted, then why are you acting that exact way towards LGBT people and being mean and bigoted yourself?"

People are so dense, they need to understand that anti straight stuff is sometimes (not always there are mean people out there) pure sarcasm and if they don't like being treated how others treat them, then maybe they should stop acting that way 😂

I think it's important to bring attention to people who are a part of society that many people wish didn't exist. But I think it's more of an issue in other parts of the world than in first-world western nations.

I don't think it's as important as it used to be. Most people I know have no problem with LGBT people and don't need "awareness". But they don't have a problem with pride either and they usually find it fun.
It has no relevance to me whatsoever.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
It's pure marketing to the LBGTQ etc crowd. They are easily influenced, have disposable income, and are ready to purchase whatever they are told to purchase to demonstrate their "pride".
SW-User
@SumKindaMunster I don't think that's fair. A lot of people I know who have pride merchandise are straight and are doing it to show their "support". There's definitely a marketing angle here, but it's not because LGBT people are more "easily influenced" than any other type of people.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@SW-User Ok, let me rephrase.

The LBGTQ crowd is just as easily led and influenced as any other demographic and corporations are leveraging that by sponsoring pride month. Of course it's a marketing opportunity for corporations. Look at all the free publicity and positive press this event has garnered.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
Yeah it's important, the anti LGBT nuts are always trying to make marriage illegal and disparage LGBT people so it's nice to have a pride month to show them that we stand as a community and are not going anywhere anytime soon.
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
I don’t think we need a whole month. I don’t know what the significance is at all.
DonHobag · M
@Keepitsimple Do you take offense to February being "Black History Month"?
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
I don’t think we need a whole month for that either.@DonHobag
DonHobag · M
@Keepitsimple It's not up to you, though. Is it?🤭
Djac17 · 22-25, M
I’m Bisexual and I think pride month is dumb
DonHobag · M
@Djac17 But you sure enjoy those rights and privlidges to get beause of those who fought for them, don't ya?
AngelofFail · 26-30, F
we should all more focus on things we have in common and not celebrate every single minority
