I was 23, I think. It was the by far the single scariest thing I had done up to that point. My Mom is my best friend and my Dad is my hero and I was terrified that I would lose them forever.

@DarkHeaven Thanks. My dad was a real piece of work. Had a real shitty go of it, true, but also went out of his way to be shitty to other people on his way out.

Chosen family is way better, anyway.

2 years ago when I wrote my mom a letter when she left out of town. I pretty much told her the truth about everything that happened to me as a kid, to my suicidal thoughts. and now we're closer than ever
