Is being gay a choice?

@ItsBaNanAss There's straight people who can't imagine being with the same gender, likewise some gay men can't stand women because they are naturally drawn to men. So saying that one "chooses" would be a wide sweeping assumption that you know better than they.

What's more is if you are saying you "chose" to be with a man (your profile says your a woman) you are implying that you like women too. Which would make you [b]bisexual[/b]. Not specifically lesbian or specifically straight. And I would argue that you didn't choose that either.

@ladycae no, this kind of assumes being gay is bad, doesn't it? Though..the catholic church suggests this. I'm just saying "being gay" at its essence isn't a choice.

@Graylight i guess to me saying it's a choice to act on t says that its bad to act on it since we could choose otherwise. but i understand what you are trying to say.

@ItsBaNanAss There's been plenty of scientific studies indicating that it's not, not to mention just in most people's personal experience, you don't have too much choice in who you end up being attracted to.

@Trevo My observations tells me that no one is either gay or straight from the start, it's something they choose to be. People who find themselves being attracted to their own sex at a young age has already been told that you're either gay or straight or bi, and therefore they choose a label from their experience.
