I'm just a straight guy with lots of gay friends who is curious but too nervous to ask this...

Is finding a good partner difficult, given that, at least for some, the pool of possible partners is greatly reduced?

What are some problems that are unique to people in this group, when it comes to dating, relationships, etc?

I don't think they would be offended if you asked. I think the difficulty of finding a partner varies a lot depending on where you live, though. It's much easier in big cities with a well-established and open LGBT community.

@SW-User I just wonder where people meet. And like, straight people complain all the time about how our exes were awful and stuff. It has to be even worse when you're in a minority position.

I also had a gay professor, and she basically mirrored your sentiments. The sociology of that is also pretty interesting, I wonder how living in a city with less active communities impacts people's interpersonal relationships.

Thanks for the answer!

The question would be are you looking to just hook up with someone short-term or do you want a LTR with a partner?
Randall · 26-30, M
@gurlwatcher22 Neither. I'm straight, and genuinely just curious about this, and how the worlds of dating are different.

Just move to West Hollywood, California. It's like its own little world.

@greenmountaingal I don't think I'm that curious. This is just something I wondered about. Thanks for the answer!

@Randall ...You could take a vacation there. They've turned my old apartment building into a tourist hotel. Now I live 60 miles away out in the desert.

@greenmountaingal I wouldn't mind taking a vacation to California, but living in the desert would make me miserable.
