And if you fear dissension between the two, send an arbitrator from his people and an arbitrator from her people. If they both desire reconciliation, Allah will cause it between them. Indeed, Allah is ever Knowing and Acquainted [with all things]. And it continues read all of it ~
You said men can hit their wives it sounded like men can beat women blah blah blah it's if she did something really really bad and it's first says to talk to them advise them if it didn't work leave her if it didn't work hit her
And it's not beating and throwing stuff at her there is a right way
Plus the prophet said about treating wives well women in general in a good way and etc and Allah said a lot of amazing things about women in Quran and it's about the husband who spends money on her and give her her rights and stuff not any husband and this has long explanation and lots of different explanations
But in the end when u look at the prophet Mohammed he treated his wives in a wonderful way with love and caring and Islam is about forgiving too lots just forgive and it's better and Allah give big rewards to wives if they did specific things for their husband and the things are easy

Hitting women is never acceptable

As well as marrying a child Mohhamed married a woman after her father brother and husband had all been killed

The Islamic religion explicitly condones sex slavery

It deserves zero respect and has no place in the civilised world

You only get away with it, because of well intentioned but ignorant people who assume all religions are based on fundamentally good things and don't question.
