I Fake Smile To Hide My Sadness

Denying I feel lonely makes no more sense than denying I feel hunger. It seems to me that the harder I try the harder I fall. I love being alone, but I hate being lonely.

I smile all the time so no one knows how sad and lonely I am inside. Some of us are just trying to get through the day without falling apart.

My silence is just another word for my alone pain.

a smile can hide so much. The eyes tell the truth, but if a person never lets anyone close enough to see, then their inner pain can go undetected for some time. Sometimes until it's too late. My hope is always that people who feel lonely , eventually get to the point where they stop hiding, and come out from behind the smile.

@Diggler: And that's exactly what I'm looking for.

@Madeleine: I want to say they're out there, but I can't gaurantee that. What I do believe is that you will find that in yourself, and when you do, it will make it easier to find that quality in someone else.

I can be a friend. I can be a sounding board. That's all I can be, and if that's enough, bend my ear anytime you want.

I'm sorry you are going through this. It's a tough spot to be in. As you say you like being alone but hate the loneliness. What do you think would remedy this? New friends? Getting out more?

Thank you. I'm looking for someone to start a family and share the rest of my life with.
