I Am Seeking Inner Peace

Another one from Rudy Francisco:

"She asks me to kill the spider.
Instead, I get the most
peaceful weapons I can find.

I take a cup & a napkin,
I catch the spider, put it outside
and allow it to walk away.

If I am ever caught in the wrong place
at the wrong time, just being alive
and not bothering anyone

I hope I am greeted
with the same kind
of mercy."

I have always wondered what this poem really meant. I am thinking if it is related to the refugee crisis, or being a foreigner in another country or being misunderstood. And that mercy is much needed in these cases.

What do you think?

what i gather from this is that in ones journey, one matures enough to understand that not everything is for them. Not everything has a consequence on them. Not everything revolves around them. And at this juncture, one starts to grasp the real reason of existence. The spider is there because it was meant to be, and whether you kill it or let it go has no consequence on it's journey till that point.

And this eye opener, that in the spider's journey you were pretty much inconsequential till the point of your happenstance meet, allows you to perceive your actions in a new light.

Hence inner peace is all about understanding the fact that you are all you can control and nothing else. This should be applicable to everything we can do..

Long comment, but the concept is deep in my opinion.
