I'd Rather Get To Know You Than Small Talk

I find the key to an engaging, meaningful conversation IS the questions, but unless they flow in both directions it quickly becomes one-sided and boring.

As well, I find questions that are random, fun, creative, and abstract providing an escape from the day to day grind are the best groundwork for a thought-provoking conversation. (:

Exactly, one side conversations just turn into a 'question and then an answer' conversation. The latest has no meaning or substance. Questions are meant to spur dialogue, get things going.

I wholeheartedly agree! On SW, I find that is particularly true. I like to write messages but if a new friend doesn't ask me questions, or worse, doesn't seem to be interested in me, I will quit writing.

I am sure they are left scratching their heads, trying to figure out what went wrong.
