Are you your thoughts?

Or the awareness behind them?
Casheyane · F
I'm galaxies. In each direction, whichever I feed, whichever I let consume me or take me for the moment. Their limitless hold of power and potential. I'm all of them.

But if it's about other's opinion of you, that's just a drop in an entire ocean of you. They can see what you show them. The world's definition of you is the action you choose to take. Religion's definition of you is your intent behind those actions.

What you think you can or can't do. What you do and don't do. In the end the satisfaction or guilt weighs on you. Whichever ones you feed will be you for the moment.
this is a BIG question..you really wanna go there?
Trippy · F
@SatyrService Gotta be careful of the thinker
@Trippy one one hand I got some youtubers, smart ones, good at addresing this issue.
stuck between science and philosophy, your question is one of the most profound.
There is NO easy answer, certainly not a short one.
words are a layer, an artifact of our intellectual environment. as such they are not thoughts, only reflections of them
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
Can the awareness behind one's thoughts be separated from the thoughts themselves?
Trippy · F
@DunningKruger Perhaps thinking just happens. Like digestion of food.
@Trippy as much as we like to think that thinking just happens, we do have choices with what we choose to think.
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
@Trippy In a sense, that's true, as our brain develops on its own without requiring us to do anything, so things like consciousness just happen.
FatherTime · 61-69, M
interesting question. I would have to say that I am the thoughts that I am not aware of.
I am my actions. I give myself a free pass over my thoughts.
Trippy · F
@BiasForAction Any action is sometimes better than none. Your thoughts are quite interesting in conjunction however.
Dolimyte · 41-45, M
It's not an either or situation.
Trippy · F
@Dolimyte I disagree.
Dolimyte · 41-45, M
@Trippy why?
Nobody00 · F
1st finally tranforming into the second. I hope
Trippy · F
@Nobody00 Hope shared

My thoughts, I'm not very self aware
@WhisperinAngelic101 I think the awareness is knowing that a thought is bad for you.
EKR1989 · 31-35, M
I am pure awareness. If I was my thoughts I would dissapear when I stopped thinking. If Im witnessing something then that something isnt me. I watch movies but Im not a movie :)
AussieZane · 36-40, M
I feel like I don't have control over my thoughts sometimes, so if I had to choose, I'd say I'm the awareness behind them.
This question would take a LONG time to answer, if I even could.
DIMaverick4 · 41-45, M
Depends on thought and the circumstances.
