I Hate New Year's Eve

I went to bed at 10. Must have fallen asleep by 10.30.
I was woken up by the sound of fireworks.

They lasted 40 minutes or so. I can still hear some distant fireworks being set off and the muffled sound arriving after travelling through the country side and low hills could be that of artillery fire in a war.

The silence now is deafening. My tinnitus is very loud right now.

What a **cking waste of money all these fireworks. Could have been better spent on charity instead of scaring the animals in wildlife with the totally useless " belligerency" of lights and noises.

My niece left her dog with us. The dog is **ucking shivering and is **it scared of the noises she heard just now.

So, after having reassured Layla, I'm back off to bed cursing all this madness because that's what is really is.

Humanity just can't seem to shake off it's stupidity and love for all things pagan.

Pepper was cringing. My daughter took her in my bed and I gave her a soothing caress, kissing her head as she rested her head on my arm, hugging me. She's a 2 month old pup and very scared. I let her sleep in my bed til the silence emerged.

@SW-User My ni3ces dog is a mini pinscher. She is a lovely dog always playful. To see her shiver so violently is hear breaking. So, she first jumped onto, then into my bed and I reassured her then she jumped on to my mothers bec where she is now.
