I Cut My Cord
I just got so fed up w/buggy and expensive satellite. Now that I'm watching some partial HD on rabbit ears, I'm starting to think that my sat box didn't give me full HD. Sure, my TV reports a 1080i signal, but I'll bet my sat box wasn't receiving 1080 lines.
I bought myself a Raspberry Pi and use it to run Kodi. I have plans to make an outdoor antenna, and am going visit hardware stores tomorrow to see what PVC piping is available. Also, you could have knocked me over w/a feather when a ham I recently met told me that you can get free legal satellite! It does, however, require a rather large dish, and a rotor system if you want to get multiple satellites.
