I Like Watching Squirrels Outside

[youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5CJHajjhzk]
I know that a lot of people hate it when squirrels come along and eat the pumpkins that they went to so much trouble to carve. But we usually get around that by waiting until just before Halloween to carve our pumpkins. This minimizes the chances of our pumpkins getting ruined by the squirrels before Halloween. Then, after Halloween, I don't care what happens to those pumpkins. It's not like we're going to reuse them next year. We're just going to throw them onto the compost pile. So after Halloween is over, the squirrels can have them, as far as I'm concerned. They may as well get a good meal out of them before winter takes hold.

And wouldn't it be a nice added bonus if a squirrel actually carved your pumpkin for you? I found this funny video of a squirrel carving a pumpkin for someone. How do you think this lady got this squirrel to carve her pumpkin for her?

me too, i used to wonder what happened to the cherries on the trees i saw outside and one day i was walking around outside and saw a squirrel with a cherry in her mouth , guess that solved the mystery, it was so cute to see that

Aw, that does sound cute. I'm always impressed by how resourceful small animals are.

Squirrels are always so fun to watch. I watch them outside of my office all the time. I wish I had their energy.
I agree with RoadPoet in that she probably either painted some clear coating on the pumpkin at those exact spots, or put something distasteful on all the rest of it. They are certainly smart animals, but I don't think they would chew that face on their own.

I'm sure she probably did. That would explain how they chewed out just the right spots on the pumpkin.

That was definitely a good video. I have never taken pictures of the squirrels before, but here is a picture at our house of momma deer and her babies. I tried, but I am not the most techie person. I couldn't figure out how to attach the photo. :( Sorry

I'm glad you liked the video. That's okay, I'm not the most tech savvy person myself. I don't think you can attach a picture to a reply. I've tried to do it but I haven't been able to do it either. If it were posted on the internet somewhere, you could include the link, but maybe it isn't posted on the internet. I would love to see that picture, though. Maybe you could post an experience and attach it there.

I will try sending it to you in a private message. it is a picture in my phone so I can't send a link. To be honest I don't know how to do that either. Lol

Squirrels are quite smart. There was a guy who made challenging obstacle course for squirrels to navigate and get the nuts. They figured out every one.

And yet they still run out in front of cars. Makes you wonder.

Yes it does. I remember those Geico commercials, with the squirrels running out in front of the car and causing the driver to get into an accident. And several years ago, I remember seeing lots of dead squirrels in the street. It almost seems as though they like to live dangerously.

Awwww this is so cute! I am glad I ran across it :) I love squirrels, too, except when they get in my attic LOL

I'm glad you enjoyed it.

And I agree, all creatures are good, as long as they are in their proper places.

Generally I don't mind squirrels, just not on my roof or in my attic.
