Your Verification Badge Icon may change dynamically, depending on the options you choose. Similar to this example:

1) In recovering ones account if they were to lose access.
2) For those who are public about their image (shares photos of themselves on SW) they would have some additional validity in their claims that they are the person in said photos.[/c]
[b]The Verification Badge does not show which members are trustworthy or not, it is [u]only meant to help verify that someone is who they claim to be publicly[/u].[/b]

Apart from the changes to this new Verification Photo feature, we will also be working on other ways for members to recover their SW account in the case of losing access.

You guys are getting a lot of flack about this verification process, but I think you guys are great & trying to do your best to keep this site as safe as possible for users. Thank you for your efforts. 🙂
This is a total BS feature and if you were smart enough you would know it. I would not trust a so called verified user any more than an unverified. I don't outsource my privacy or verification. It's just rubbish and again you should at least watermark images to prevent FURTHER FAKE ACCOUNTS. All you are doing is giving people a false sense of security.
Im really happy about the verification but my parent told me something that made me unsure if i should verify or not.
Now the stories i write here are for SW only and i dont want it to get out where people can connect A with B. My dad knows a little about data collection agency that buy data such as sites like this in order to use that information to sell product
Like example. You got a newly generated mobile number you were fine for a year wituout marketing calls or email. Then suddenly you start to notice them because you put your number and email on sites that occasionally sale limited information to marketing company.
The i formation is limited as to what is sold. Dad tells me they only ask for 3 major things. First Name, Email and Phone#.
Now if i post a verification photo i need a guarenteed that my own data isnt being sold off noow and never will be.
With the explicit stories i have i honestly rather not be verified then Verified just because can you imagine my boss or my college digging up this information.
I was looking forward for this Verification but didnt see the huge picture to know if it would be a problem for me. I think i rather have people call me a fake then not being able to attend school because they connected A and B.

I understand exactly what you mean, and we totally understand if you don't want to verify your account.
Any private data you have, such as email, info that you don't share to public, private messages, etc, we don't share with anyone or any service. (note that with private messages, the other person might share the messages you had with them)
All other data that is public or accessible by our members, might be indirectly shared. This means that if other people can access the data, including Google, then that data is automatically being shared by others.
We also use Google Analytics so we can have a number of stats of Similar Worlds. These are very important for us, so we can know what is going on our website, as a Business.
However, please rest assured that we are careful in ensuring that only non-identifiable data is stored there. This means that just looking at the stats on Google Analytics, we don't really know what the users are.
Any data, that we need to use that identifies a user, stays in our own databases/servers, and we don't share this data with anyone (unless the user shared that data with public).
We don't send data directly to Google Ads (we don't send location, interests or anything else). Google will use whatever data they have about you (e.g. your IP, or data from your Google account) to show the best ads they can.
@Nuno I'm not sure if this is relevant or not, but I was gone a week and came back to notice a music video was removed off of my friends page? All the writing I put was still there but not the video so I had to re-post it?!😎 So I guess "YouTube" can be manipulated. I'm with Nymnin on the verification process. On the other hand I applaud the staff for finding ways to keep it REAL here. ⭐
I'd like to know when you will stop punishing people for blocking someone who harasses you in a post by not letting us back in there. AND are you working on keeping children and perverted men out of here? How is this verification thing at all useful or helpful? I can tell and show you anything...you don't know if it's really me
@beckyromero No. I go into a post. I make a comment. Some other member becomes obnoxious. I block him. I am not able to get back in. Why don't you get that? It isn't really fair that the person who did the blocking of someone obnoxious to be kept out of the post.

I have not encountered that.
But if that is the case, then the solution is simple. If you are not interacting with that person, then [u]don't[/u] block him. Interact on that post with others but without regards to him or her. You'll just have to weigh the benefit of interacting with others vs. the annoyance of reading something obnoxious.
Look at it as watching the evening news. I want to know what's going on but at some point the TV screen is going to be filled with a pic of Trump's face.

@Nuno it's an invasion of privacy. moreover the privacy policy doesn't cover the current updates and it's in violation of the General Data Protection Regulation. you are discriminating users. that's immoral and wrong. and yes many users are leaving because they lost trust.
