Cello, violin, or guitar ?

I want to know which one is better. ^_^

I began playing guitar when I was fourteen and was a professional musician for many years, but I have always loved the sound of the cello.

In you opinion which do you think is better played on it's own ? I always hear the cello and violin accompanied with piano or something.
