@SW-User My best advice? Start small. I know people who have plowed an acre and tried to garden it, WHOA! Thats alot :)
I built 4 x 8 planter boxes and started there, once I fill one up and think I can handle more, I build another one.
Even small garden plots can produce a lot of food!

1. Never met an art form that wasn't a mutual lovefest. I have overloaded my filing cabinet and home workspace with sketches, outlines, schematics, concepts, fragments, models, prototypes, scraps, and various experiments. This is a continuous output. It does not stop, [b][i]the Muses are at war[/i][/b].
2. I'm a excellent builder in Minecraft. Aggressive striker in Rocket League. There's an XBOX involved.
3. Because there are 6 children in the house, we have a better selection of board games than Wal-Mart. Also, card games (collectible or otherwise), and I've chased them through musical instruments (violin, piano, flute, clarinet, harmonica, recorder, tin whistles, etc.). Everyone sings. Unicycles? Yep. Drones? Yep. Baseball? Uh huh. We have an enormous collection of books, because we are avid readers. My oldest daughter is already published. She's 14.
4. One of the biggest things I emphasize in this home is a sense of duty to the community. Which is why I serve as an officer of my Lodge, creating charitable events and programs to make the community a better place. My children participate as well. In fact, that same daughter is a junior volunteer firefighter. We do the Special Olympics. We clean the parks.
Because of all these things, my wife and I get ONE weekend away. Per year. To ourselves.
That's date night.

I don’t always do anything except cook, read, write and grow houseplants - but I also crochet and quilt, take unplanned little all-in-a-day road trips, play guitar and sing to myself.
Just ordered a few bamboo plants to try my hand at bonsai. (My reasoning being bamboo grows fast and I’m 68.)
